Edensor Church

Inside this beautiful village

and
you're right Dui, it does have the feel of
'Midsummer Murders'
about it, doesn't it!
Hehe

There is a very special church

Can you read this ?

Kathleen Kennedy is buried here.
She had married the heir to the Chatters-A-Way Estate,
before he was killed in WW1 and she died in a plane crash
So sad.

(Just as you remembered Sweet William, I'm impressed)

And her brother John F  Kennedy visited here in June 1963

This is where the last of the Mitford sisters,
the Dowager Duchess is buried
Those Mitford girls where AMAZING!

The stained glass window inside was stunning,
sadly Mum's photographic abilities do not show
just how beautiful it is

And look at the Church organ….all that beautiful wood!

Oh, and where was I in all this???

Chatting to my mate …the Church Mouse
I had to listen very closely 'cos
he was
"As quiet as a Church Mouse"

(and probably not very rich either!)

Hehe!!!

Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah

  5. Leah darlin' what a lovely lovely church. It just amazes us the amount of delicate carvings on the stone and how in the world they were able to build such things way back then w limited tools. I guess as the saying goes sometimes you just make do!!

It must have been a very somber experience to see the gave of Kathleen Kennedy and know the history. The Kennedy family has had their share of tragedy.

Did you kiss your little mouse friend on the nose before you left
    Hugs madi yoru bfff

  15. So church mice really ARE quiet? Interesting. What if you grabbed him and shook him? Just curious.

  17. Mitford sisters were they not six eccentric sisters? Were some of the sisters not fascist and I thought one committed suicide. Oh I am going to have to take a look at my history.
You know Rose Kennedy was so miffed at her daughter for marrying into a none Roman Catholic family that she did not attend her daughters funeral. Such simple stone in the cemetery. Wonder who still leaves the flowers. Oh how I wish I could be there in the furs.
    Thanks for being a friend
