It's hard to pick just a few pictures of the glorious park around
Chatters-A-Way House
but I've tried to chose some I hope you'll like
This lovely Summer House overlooks the Grotto Pond
(silly name for such a beautiful spot!)
It was built for Georgiana Spencer
(yes relative of our Diana Spencer who became Princess Diana)
Georgiana married the Duke of Devonshire
The film 'The Duchess' starring Kiera Knightley
was about her
Everywhere you look there's something amazing to look at
We found this waterfall ...called 'Quebec'
This lady didn't have much to say for herself!
Or maybe you prefer more modern art?
(and yes, that is me, I did clamber on it...
can't you hear the peeps shouting at me!)
And this view...sundowner point...
This is where the peeps watched the sun go down in the evening
What a view!
Can you see the church it the distance?
That's in Edensor, where Kathleen (Kick) Kennedy is buried
The Queen, Princess Leah and Prince Charles
Apparently I'm not supposed to stick my tongue out at Prince Charles!
(if you're not bored yet I'll find some more for you next week!)
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah

We've recently watched a program on Manor houses. We saw that one.....heard the history of Georgiana. Saw 'The Duchess', too, but didn't connect the two until you mentioned. Also, didn't know Kathleen Kennedy was buried there, as well. Great pictures, love the one with ALL THREE ROYALS....BOL!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place to visit, we love seeing the pictures!

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! You look very cute and lovely in these pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe live in Quebec, were you near us?
ReplyDeleteHow can we possibly bored looking at such lovely photos? Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteBored not at all ~ why Lee thrives on looking at places like tis and the history. Why finding out that Georgiana Spencer was related to Princess Diana was interesting. Lee saw the movie 'The Duchess' (we did not think it was a good movie). And the story of Kathleen Kennedy is sad how her mother would not even attend her funeral. Looks like a lovely church in the valley. We just saw the movie Woman in Gold and loved the British-American drama .
ReplyDeleteWe will be back to see more.
Sweet William The Scot

ReplyDeleteHa roo roo roo!!! I don't see anything wrong with sticking your tongue out at Prince Charles! HA! (Never at the Queen, though!)
