Today I'm joining Arty, Jakey and Rosy
over at
for
International Lighthouse Day
Now I have NEVER seen a Lighthouse in the furs
so......
I've picked one I'd like to see
(are you taking this in Mum and Dad????)
Its a medieval Lighthouse
Isn't that cool????
St Catherine's Oratory
Isle of Wight
You can find all about it here
My Tower |
Of course the resemblance to MY tower
is quite incidental
*cough, cough*
The landowner was MADE to build it
because
He'd stolen casks of red wine from a shipwreck in the bay
So,
It's built by a sumpeep from the Isle of Wight
(My Dad comes from somewhere down there)
By sumpeep that luffs red wine
(My Dad luffs red wine)
And its really old
(My Dad's really old!)
Ummmm...er Dad....
Have you been on sum smuggling adventures
WITHOUT ME???????
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah

ReplyDeleteI have never seen a medevial lighthouse and had no idea they exist. it is beautiful, they were before their time, the first view of it looks much like a rocket ship to me... it is a lovely lighthouse
ReplyDeleteHa roo roo roo! It MUST have been your dad who built it!!! How cool is that?!?!
ReplyDeleteWe've never seen a medieval lighthouse - that is so cool!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
What a fun post, Princess Leah. I linked this post to Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day. My best to your peeps. ♥
Oh my, your Dad might be a smuggler? Perhaps he can smuggle some puppicinos for you next?
ReplyDeleteMara from NI
PS: love that lighthouse!
Wow, we would love to see that one too. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful lighthouse! I hope you get to see it one day, Leah!
ReplyDeleteGhostwriter says that really old tower looks just like a rocket ship. I hope you get to visit it sometime.
ReplyDelete(Oh, ghostwriter saw the beautiful "nail clipping" moon last night when she got out of work at 3:30am. By the time she got home, though, it was hidden behind the clouds. I was too tired to go out and look anyway. I didn't think you appreciate me calling you at that time of night!)
That really is a great lighthouse.
ReplyDeleteBOL...Maybe your Dad is part pirate?? What a great lighthouse Princess, I do hope Pirate Daddy takes you there one day!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Princess, you totally have to go to that lighthouse. It is SO COOL. Gail says she used to go to the Isle of Wight for family holidays when she was a child, and she remembers there is anther cool lighthouse there at The Needles. And another one at St Catherine's Point. Oh yes, and she wonders if you can still buy those lighthouses filled with layers of different coloured sand from Alum Bay?
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
PS Gail has been a geography nerd from quite a young age....
Looks like a Medieval rocket sort of. We hope your dad has been up to mischief…. A great lighthouse. Thanks for showing it to us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share, Princess. We love the lighthouse you picked out for us today. We love seeing such beautiful structures. I think mom and dad have some planning to do to get you there one day. Great photos. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWorld of Animals

ReplyDeleteHahaha! As a princess with her very own tower, I think a lighthouse is in order too. ♥
ReplyDeleteI agree with M.K. You are indeed a Princess and you have a genuine tower. Cool!

ReplyDeletehugs
Hazel & Mabel
I sure love that old lighthouse, and would pick it to be the one to see, too. (I don't think your Dad is old enough to have built it - just a guess.)
ReplyDeleteWow Princess Leah we think you win in the oldest lighthouse category for this blog hop. What a cool thing to still be standing after all these years.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a cool lighthouse! We don't have anything Medieval here in North America (except maybe my Mom who is older than dirt...)
