York

I was in the ancient city of York

Micklegate Bar

You have to enter through a City Gate or Bar….
Yep, I was confused 'cos as you nose Bar means sumthingy very different to me

And you can walk around the city walls, well it did say
No Dogs
But don't worry, it didn't say
No Princesses
So I'm allowed!

A wonderful mixture of old and new

And through this window in the wall you can see….

Wow, so high up....feeling DIZZY!

The Romans have been here and the Vikings
and now...
ME!!!!

And the Cathedral from yesterday....
Well, they talk with a funny accent up here in the North,
So they pronounce Cathedral as Minster
and this is
York Minster
Isn't it stunning
and
it's just as beautiful inside!

Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah

...well darn... I was two thirds of the way there, geographically speaking!!! There are not too many cathedrals with tower configurations like that... I visited York so many more years ago than I can actually count now. It is a truly beautiful place. So glad you had this wonderfurs trip and were able to get by the rules, your Illegalness!!! 12. Love the cathedral, sorry, Minster. I have a mind of visiting York myself next year. That's the plan anyway. Do you know if bears are allowed?

  13. We are totally embarrassed that we didn't recognise York Minster, which we go past so regularly on the train!
Oh well, I guess that is why I am Bertie Boffin not Bertie Architectural Expert...

  14. Of course a Princess like you would be allowed to enter!!! That is a beautiful cathedral even if they do call it a minster:)

  15. Hey, SHE has been there and suggests that you find one of those Yorkshire pudding bowls filled with beef stew or whatever you chews.

  16. That is SO COOL! I especially love the shot of you looking through the window in the wall! What's with the "no dogs" thing? I mean, no, it doesn't apply to you (Princess) or me (Siberian Husky), but what about our dog friends? Crazy talk!
    Yours sincerely,
